Her list of five and a half books includes the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Sick: The Untold Story of America&#8217;s Health Care Crisis \u2013 and the People Who Pay the Price<\/em> by Jonathan Cohn<br \/>\n Case histories illustrating the complexity of insurance and health care issues<\/li>\n<li><em>Overtreated: Why Too Much Medicine Is Making Us Sicker and Poorer <\/em>by Shannon Brownlee<br \/>\n Health care and economics.<\/li>\n<li><em>Boomerang: Health Care Reform and the Turn Against Government<\/em> by Theda Skocpol<br \/>\n Analyzing the Clinton adminstration&#8217;s failed attempt to fix healthcare in 1994 offers interesting background and many instructive points relevant to today&#8217;s healthcare debate. <br \/>\n Also recommended on the same topic: <em>The System: The American Way of Politics at the Breaking Point<\/em> by Haynes Johnson and David Broder.<\/li>\n<li><em>The Cure: How Capitalism Can Save American Health Care<\/em> by David Gratzer<br \/>\n The case against government involvement.<\/li>\n<li><em>The Health Care Mess: How We Got Into It and What It Will Take to Get Out<\/em> by Julius Richard and Rashi Fein<br \/>\n The case for government-financed universal healthcare.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I have read none of these.
