Where have the collaborative encyclopedia&#8217;s edits been coming from?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fox News. You will be shocked &#8212; shocked! &#8212; to learn that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geeksaresexy.net\/2007\/08\/14\/fox-news-changes-wikipedia-to-smear-rivals-olbermann-and-franken-comprehensive-list-of-changes\" title=\"fox news wikipedia edits\" target=\"_blank\">they have been spinning items in a conservative direction<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Diebold, the electronic voting machine vendor. Those rascals <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/politics\/onlinerights\/news\/2007\/08\/wiki_tracker\" title=\"wikipedia edits\" target=\"_blank\">deleted 15 paragraphs critical of their machines<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Walmart. It seems their employee compensation is better than some might think (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/politics\/onlinerights\/news\/2007\/08\/wiki_tracker\" title=\"wikipedia edits\" target=\"_blank\">same link as above<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Mittromney.com. Someone there is leaning &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/bobmccarty.wordpress.com\/2007\/08\/15\/blogger-makes-wikipedia-scanner-discovery-sort-of\/\" title=\"romney favors romney\" target=\"_blank\">a little more toward voting FOR Mitt Romney<\/a>.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The BBC. Someone there thinks <a href=\"http:\/\/frostfirebuzz.com\/bbc-ip-address-edits-wikipedia-calls-george-bush-a-w-ker\" title=\"bush = wanker\" target=\"_blank\">GWBush is a wanker<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Whereas at the New York Times they just think <a href=\"http:\/\/wonkette.com\/politics\/dept%27-of-maturity\/cia-vatican-dccc-fox-news-new-york-times-all-just-fucking-around-on-wikipedia-289858.php\" title=\"nyt on gwb\" target=\"_blank\">he&#8217;s a &#8220;jerk.&#8221;<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The National Institute on Drug Abuse. Someone there <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wonkette.com\/politics\/wikipedia\/national-institute-of-health-division-bravely-edits-own-wikpedia-entry-231595.php\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"NIDA wikipedia edits\">prefered one of their press releases to the existing wikipedia article<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Susan Collins. Someone in the senator&#8217;s office <a href=\"http:\/\/achorn.blogspot.com\/2007\/08\/is-susan-collins-editing-her-own.html\" title=\"susan collins wikipedia edits\" target=\"_blank\">thought her entry didn&#8217;t make her sound moderate enough<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Not to mention still more Republican hijinks, from the Republican Party of Minnesota. People there <a href=\"http:\/\/wonkette.com\/politics\/edit-history-is-written-by-the-victors-dept%27\/wikipedia-vandalism-proves-republicans-hate-harry-potter-289491.php\" title=\"Republican Party of Minnesota wikipedia edits\" target=\"_blank\">don&#8217;t like Harry Potter but they do like &#8220;penis gourds.&#8221;<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The CIA. <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/technology\/6947532.stm\" title=\"CIA wikipedia edits\" target=\"_blank\">Iran is on someone&#8217;s mind there<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The Vatican. Someone there <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/technology\/6947532.stm\" title=\"vatican wikipedia edits\" target=\"_blank\">is interested in Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>And let&#8217;s not forget the Democratic National Committee, where someone felt that Rush Limbaught&#8217;s entry should not omit the highly pertinent observation that &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/technology\/6947532.stm\" title=\"DNC on Limbaugh\" target=\"_blank\">Most of [his listeners] are legally retarded.<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No doubt more revelations will be forthcoming.<\/p>\n<p>Update, 32 Aug.
