HEXAGRAM 50: VESSEL

Great fortune and success.

The Lines (base to top)

Legs hold the vessel off the fire
The vessel's full, the wife is ill
Broken vessel in the rain
Uneven legs cause a spill
Vessel hanging on gold pole
Vessel hanging on jade pole

Commentary

Fire over wind. The air enters at the bottom, causing a good updraft, perfect for a ting-shaped vessel with its three feet to raise it off the fire.

Life is good.
