HEXAGRAM 23: SPLITTING

Splitting apart. Not a good time to go off and do things.

The Lines (base to top)

Dried-out old wood, bedposts split
Edges of bedcovers frayed
Someone is beside himself
Twin beds getting pushed apart
Klatch of ladies: school of fish
No fine quilts for the homeless

Commentary

Mountain over earth. The single strong line at the top doesn't have enough support. The roof will collapse.

Repair the foundation. Some things can't be propped up for long.
