HEXAGRAM 4: FOLLY

Don't go searching for the fool: he will find you. Asking once is fine; further questions yield nothing.

The Lines (base to top)

Unleash the whelp, let him go
The fool will do you no harm
Some are not for marrying
Matted tangles mask the view
Mind the wisdom of the fool
One who gets slapped will laugh last

Tom's Commentary

Mountain over water. The spring emerging beneath a mountain represents the young fool who does not know which way to turn. Feel your way.
