What do you know about it?

I've worked in trade book and museum book publishing for some 25 years. I ran a publishing company that was nominated for a Carey Thomas Award for creative publishing. I've published something like seventeen books of my own as author, translator, or credited editor (my most recent book was recently accepted for publication by Counterpoint Press). I've been associated with several national best sellers. See my bio and my list of publications for more.

How can I be sure this will work?

You can't. Publishing is a tough game. It's also a slow one, so why waste time spinning your wheels? All you can do is play the odds to improve your chances.

Won't great writing sell itself?

No. There are plenty of examples of great writers and great books that had difficulty getting published. Publishing is a business. Marketability is the key.
