Continued from page 2. Now we'll fiddle with the levels, curves, and saturation. To make this easier for our present purposes I've duplicated the image and flattened the layers. First we'll check the levels. We want a good distribution across the full range. Hmmm, looks like the midpoint needs to slide left a little.
I think that helps, but now the image is a little flat.
We'll have to add a little punch with an ess-curve. In a way we're correcting what we just did in the previous step, but this is the workflow that generally produces the best results for me.
