I don&#039;t think the blook network forces publishers to &quot;descend to the lowest common denominator.&quot;  It still gives them the opportunity to select from writers who have demonstrated they something people want to read.  One of the tragedies of publishing today is the millions of copies of books that get pulped because a publisher&#039;s judgment went awry.
